A work of art for Louis Chevrolet's home town
Louis Chevrolet was a pioneer, an innovative engineer, and a successful racing driver. On November 3, 1911, he and his business partner, William Durant, founded
the Chevrolet Motor Car Company in Detroit, Michigan, U.S.A.
To commemorate its centenary, Chevrolet is commissioning a contemporary sculpture for Louis Chevrolet's home town, the Swiss watch-making center of La Chaux-de-Fonds.
Chevrolet has invited four teams of internationally renowned artists to join a competition to create the artwork. The artists were asked to design a work that is physically, intellectually and emotionally accessible and reflects the values associated with the Chevrolet brand, its co-founder and the city of La Chaux-de-Fonds.
