Geneva – The Chevrolet Spark, to be shown production-ready for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009, will bring a fresh dimension to Europe's growing mini-car segment. With its distinctive, edgy styling, the Spark is set to light up European markets early next year. Two punchy four-cylinder engines of 1.0 and 1.2 liters displacement will deliver excellent fuel consumption and low emission values. The five-door Spark, which is based on the Beat concept vehicle, combines head-turning design with outstanding roominess, fun to drive and, like all Chevrolet vehicles, extraordinary value.

Alongside the Spark on Chevrolet’s Geneva show stand, the all-new Chevrolet Cruze is the compact sedan that introduced Chevrolet's new global design language. Its four-door coupé styling is a first in this segment and features visual elements that express traditional Chevrolet design cues in a fresh, contemporary way. Developed to satisfy European tastes in design and chassis performance, Cruze goes on sale in March and will spearhead the launch of a series of new products (including the Spark) that share its design cues and quality standards. The Cruze will be available with 1.6 and 1.8-liter gasoline engines with full variable valve timing, as well as with a 2.0-liter 150 hp turbo diesel offering 5.6 l/100 km over combined cycle.

The hostesses on the Chevrolet stand will be wearing an outfit that came out of "Young? Creative? Chevrolet! 2008", the second edition of Chevrolet's pan-European contest aimed at students of applied arts schools. The hostesses' dress is the group work of Alexandra Jeller, Katharina Perkhofer and Melanie Winkler, the three young students of Kunstuniversität Linz, Modeschule Hetzendorf based in Vienna, Austria, who won the first prize in Fashion, one of five disciplines covered in the contest. The models on the Chevrolet stand will be wearing dresses designed and produced by students of fashion schools participating in the 2009 edition of "Young? Creative? Chevrolet!".
