  • Young Creative Chevrolet winner, Daniel Kovács, goes to work with the professionals
  • Jury member, Leander Bauer, hosts winner in Berlin studio

Daniel Kovács, European winner of the 2010 Young Creative Chevrolet (YCC) contest, was recently whisked away by Chevrolet for a two day music master class.

On August 25, Daniel, a 25 year old student from the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Austria, met up with this year's music juror, Leander Bauer, in Berlin, Germany. At the Boom Clap studio in central Berlin, Daniel worked under the guidance of Leander, and mixing engineer, Hannes Biegers, to remix his winning tune, "All the Way". Through mastering and improving the sound, the tune became even more electrifying.

Leander Bauer commented: "The Chevrolet studio trip was a great experience for both Daniel and me – you learn new things each time you go into the studio. I believe that Daniel enjoyed it a lot and so did I."

Leander, a student at Popakademie, was the 2009 YCC European music winner. He has already worked with renowned artists such as: Chris Barron – Spin Doctors, Charlie Grant, Mel C and Simply Red. He has also composed music for several prestigious companies such as Deutsche Post, Danone and Coca-Cola. His latest album release made it to number 7 in the German album charts.

Daniel thoroughly enjoyed his prize: "A great trip with Chevrolet - I really enjoyed it! It was nice to work in a small studio that fitted well with the atmosphere in Berlin. It was a good learning experience and I‘m very happy with the outcome."

Chevrolet had challenged the students in the YCC contest to compose an electrifying theme tune to accompany the Spark at its launch event. The objective was to compose an original, fun and lively piece of music. Leander praised Daniel's song: "This song is wonderfully young and dynamic. It fits perfectly with the Spark."
