  • Visual Arts and Fashion of Chevrolet Europe's annual Young Creative Chevrolet (YCC) applied arts contest exhibited at Paris Motor Show
  • Talented Video 2010 YCC winner commissioned to create one of a kind video for the Chevrolet stand
  • Fifth YCC contest kicked off, with calls for submission in visual arts, fashion, video, photography and music

Look no further than the Chevrolet stand at the Paris Motor Show to get a feel for the creative talents of some of this year's YCC award winners. Chevrolet was so impressed with this year's video award winner, a talented team from Ecole Emil Cohl in France, that they specially commissioned the team to create a video to represent the brand at the show. The result is an unconventional, high-energy and creative video that brings a hip, modern interpretation of the brand to life on the booth's big screens. This is a great example of how this applied arts competition – launched in 2007 by Chevrolet Europe to support emerging artists in the early stages of their careers – allows European applied arts students unique opportunities for exposure in their respective fields.

This year, five winners from four countries were selected by an esteemed international jury in the disciplines of visual arts, fashion, video, photography and music. YCC projects highlighted in the Chevy stand include:

Visual arts – The stunning WTCC-leading Spark premiered at this year's World Touring Car Championship race in Brands Hatch, U.K. Winner of the 2010 YCC visual arts discipline, José Rocha of Portugal redesigned the Chevrolet Spark's exterior to take the Spark's edgy, urban spirit to the next level.

Fashion – The sophisticated and futuristic outfit, sported by the model presenting the Chevrolet Volt, claimed first place in the 2010 YCC fashion discipline. Created by Jungeun Eom of France, the design embodies the bold yet refined styling of the Chevrolet Volt. Students from the same fashion school (ESMOD in Lyon) also designed outfits for the models of the three other Chevrolet world premieres.

This year's YCC winners were honored at the festive Chevrolet Fashion Catwalk gala, held in the stunning Théâtre du Merveilleux at the Pavillons de Bercy (Paris) on the eve of Paris Motor Show. The event – which also featured a fashion show of Frank Sorbier paying tribute to iconic Chevrolet cars – celebrated 100 years of fashion and automotive design.

Following this year's success, Chevrolet Europe is pleased to launch the fifth annual Young Creative Chevrolet contest. All creative briefs – once again in the disciplines of fashion, photography, visual arts, video and music – revolve around Chevrolet's 100-year anniversary in 2011.
