LONDON, U.K. – Commuters in London were left dumbstruck by a life-size replica of a Chevrolet Orlando made from children's Play-Doh which was parked on a street in Camberwell on a recent Friday morning.

Using 1.5 tons of the children's putty from 10,000 pots – costing around €7,000 – eight model makers took two weeks to hand-craft the model to celebrate the U.K. launch of the new Chevrolet Orlando. The 4.6 meter long and 1.8 meter high replica was later on display at the Lakeside shopping mall in Thurrock, Essex.

Chevrolet's first entrant into the European MPV segment is a family van for style-conscious families. It combines 7-seater practicality and interior flexibility with striking crossover-style design.

Les Turton from Chevrolet U.K. said: "The new Orlando deserves another look and we believe this mould-breaking multi-purpose vehicle is a real head-turner - especially when it's made from over a ton of the nation's most popular aqua-marine putty. Hopefully, this launch will appeal to the inner-child in every parent and it will become a family favorite."

Research by the car company provided the inspiration for the world's biggest Play-Doh sculpture as the modeling compound topped a poll of the most-loved toy from yesteryear.  Over 1,000 U.K. adults voted for their favorite nostalgic toy from their childhood with Play-Doh gaining a fifth (19%) of the vote closely followed by LEGO (17%) and Kinder Egg (15%).
