On Sunday, June 19, 2011 a very unique 100 Years of Chevrolet Event will take place in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, organized by a group of car enthusiasts who have been organizing the Louis Chevrolet Rally for the past 14 years. Their goal is to "celebrate at La Chaux-de-Fonds 100 years of Chevrolet by bringing together 1,000 Chevrolets from all over the world, dating from 1911 to the present day." Chevrolet Europe and Chevrolet Suisse are sponsors of the event.
La Chaux-de-Fonds is the birth place of Louis Chevrolet, who was born there on December 25, 1878, at rue du Grenier 22a. The city was recently named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, along with its neighboring city, Le Locle, due to them being outstanding examples of mono-industrial manufacturing towns.
